At the
same time, the Hettite cities TUVANUVA (Tiana) and NAHITA (Nigdi) flourished, especially Tuvanuva, its status raised, when one of the princes of
Hattusa was appointed there commander. Apart from there important
cities, inscriptions were found in other regions of Kappadokia, mostly
at Bor, Adaval, Giouloudaj, Eregli, Ivriz and elsewhere.
Around 1500BC the old kingdom of Hettites callapsed. Fifty years later
under the leadership of Tounhaligia (1450-1420), their empire was
set up again until approximately 1200, when other Indo-European tribes
came to the area, “the people of the sea”. They destroyed the empire
of Hettites as wellas others including Mycanac. One of the tribes
that took actine part in the dounfall of Hettites were the Frygianes,
an ancient tribe of the Balkan peninsula who crossed the sea to Asia
Minor. There, they established their authority having their cities
on the ruins of the cities of Hettites. When the Frygians appeared, all the cities of Hettites were destroued and Hettites never again
appeared in history.
